A Message From The Future
People of time before my parents and I
Our world is so frightful, each day more do die.
The oceans and rivers, made acid, eat flesh,
We gasp for our air till our last feeble breath.
You thought life eternal, always would be,
Thus careless you were and poisons you freed.
The year is only Twenty One Hundred and Two,
And life is a nightmare, we wish it were you.
We scramble for shelter in what does remain
Of what were once cities that towered and reigned.
As soon as we think a place may be safe,
Great clouds filled with horror blister our face.
We wish you were here to see what you’ve done,
Your babies know cancer, raw sores, and no young.
They plead for God’s mercy and never get hope,
Pain fills their faces, and blindly they grope.
You could have stopped this - if you had cared,
But you weren’t willing for earth to be shared,
Your self centered lives were lived in great greed,
And never did you consider your seed.
