Where Do I Go?
.
Where do I go when God carries you home,
What shall I do - wander aimlessly alone?
Who will I be with half of me gone,
Where shall I turn when my world might go wrong.
How can I trust this greater plan as unveiled
Which takes you from me, the one whom I’ve held.
I wish I could see what purpose it serves,
Instead of just hearing it through someone’s kind words.
We’ve mapped out our future with many great plans,
Things that we’ll do as we walk hand in hand.
Should I continue to carry them through,
Without you I wonder what good it would do.
I know that you’ll always be part of me dear,
This is not something I doubt or I fear.
It’s just I’ll miss pleasure in your delight,
and your slight fussing when something’s not right.
How shall I cope only seeing you through me,
Not knowing for certain if it’s just fantasy.
Where do I go to find your sweet words,
Treasures I’ll miss when they’re no longer heard.
