New Horizons

.
Marsha gazed on blue domain of human love and human pain,
A clouded marble she made home before she let her passions roam.
‘Another life I’ve now been shown and memories are but all I own.’
‘Shall I soon be made insane from missing sun, the wind and rain?’
To the stars she turned once more and gently let her spirit soar.

Her vessel slipped through time’s skewed door, a sturdy craft made to explore
The vastly miniscule universe where oft is forged man’s dreams inversed.
‘Will this journey be a first’, she thought, ‘or shall it soon be cursed?’
She crossed her heart as to implore some higher power’s will before
Attending to her exit plan from hyper jumping space’s span.

Awestruck now, her vision panned across the planet’s foreign land,
Gliding through the atmosphere her heart was filled with joy and fear.
‘Will I find new promise here?’ -- To her cheek there fell a tear.
Touching down on emerald sand, fortune opened up its hand.
Swooning breathless, she slowly stood beside the one who knew she could.

Two children lay on raft like wood and asked their mommy if she would
Tell of Earth and was it good -- She wondered if she really should.
